DOWNLOAD HELP - HOW TO DOWNLOAD
FROM THE INTERNET
There
are many different ways to download programs or software from the
Internet, such as FTP sites, executable files (.EXE), or Zipped
files (.ZIP).
Most
downloads can be can transferred to your computer by following the
instructions below.
- Click on the
download link or button. You will see a window that asks you where
you want to save the file. Select a directory or create a new
one.
Note: Make sure that you write down the
name of the file, and the directory that you save
to.
Such as:
c:\mydocuments\downloads\download.zip
- Once you've
selected the directory click on OK.
Note: If using Netscape click on the
download links with the right mouse button or if you're using a
Macintosh hold the click, then you will see a menu where you can
choose "Save Link As.." Then follow the instructions
above.
TO EXECUTE
THE FILE AFTER DOWNLOAD
- Navigate to the directory that you saved the file
in.
- Double click on its name.
- The
.ZIP file will extract itself and a window will appear.
- Double click on the file name to start the installation
program.
Note: For more information pertinent to
each download, read the installation instructions that accompany
the program.
